Our top priority is to maintain the health of your family pet.  We offer wellness exams yearly, and twice a year for our senior friends.  Health exams are paramount to good health, since our patients not only communicate with us on their own terms and but their health status can change quickly.  Pets often hide their illness from us – this is how they survived in the wild before they took over our warm homes!  Our job, as their doctors, is to uncover these concerns earlier rather than later.

Kittens and puppies require a series of vaccines, wellness tests and preventatives in order to protect them adequately from disease and illness.

Feeding your pet...

It’s best to feed your friend only high quality pet foods. High quality food contains a higher protein concentration and quality of ingredients, which are more easily digestible than the cereal-based foods generally found at the grocery store.  Even though quality food may cost more per bag, less food needs to be fed, so you probably come out even and your pet is happier.  Just as in humans, eating a good diet translates into a healthier, leaner body.

When appropriate, we will recommend a specifically formulated food for your pet.  At Apple Creek, we carry the Royal Canin line of veterinary prescription diets.

For our seniors...

Sharing your life with a pet is extremely rewarding.  Due to advances in veterinary medicine, our pets are living longer and better lives.  What great news!  But this also means that as our animals age, we are diagnosing the same problems that human doctors find in their patients – heart disease, dental disease, hypertension, diabetes, arthritis, cancer and liver disease, to name a few. That’s why it’s so important to bring your pet in for health checks as recommended, even if he or she seems healthy, or no vaccines are due.
